Children’s Hospital Flights

AeroAngel serves hospitals throughout the United States. Our goal is to partner with healthcare providers to improve their patients’ access, safety, and outcomes. To date we have provided flights for children receiving medical care at the following Children’s Hospitals.

 
 

Boston children’s hospital

Boston Children's is ranked the number one pediatric hospital in the nation by U.S. News and World Report. It is home to the world's largest pediatric research enterprise, and it is the leading recipient of pediatric research funding from the National Institutes of Health. Boston Children’s treats more children with rare diseases and complex conditions than any other hospital.

AeroAngel has flown several kids over the years to Boston Children’s Hospital, including 1-year-old Jayne for intestinal surgery, 4-year-old Eliana and 1-year-old Mabry for heart surgeries, and 2-year-old Hope for brain surgery.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the nation's first hospital devoted exclusively to the care of children. Since its start in 1855, CHOP has been the birthplace for countless breakthroughs and dramatic firsts in pediatric medicine. They have repeatedly earned a spot on the U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll of the nation's best children's hospitals.

AeroAngel has transported children requiring treatment at CHOP, including Cassius, a 2-year-old who required a transplant for a rare immune condition.

 

Children’s hospital of colorado

Founded in 1908 in Denver, Children's Colorado’s mission is to improve the health of children through the provision of high-quality coordinated programs of patient care, education, research and advocacy. Children’s Colorado has consistently been one of the top children’s hospitals in the nation. Through medical research and advocacy efforts, Colorado Children’s is working towards a world where kids are safer and healthier and will one day have less need for a hospital.

Based out of Colorado, AeroAngel has flown many in to Children’s Colorado, including Thomas, aged 3, who has many medical complications from moyamoya disease.

 

cleveland clinic

Cleveland Clinic has been named the No. 2 hospital in the nation and the No. 1 hospital for heart care in U.S. News & World Report’s “2021-22 Best Hospitals” rankings.

Since 1999, Cleveland Clinic has ranked as a Top 5 hospital and has also held the No. 1 ranking in Cardiology & Heart Surgery since 1995.

4-year-old Scottlyn needed to get to Cleveland Clinic for surgery, and with a condition that causes common illnesses to be severe for her, a commercial flight was not a safe option.

 

Cincinnati children’s hospital

Cincinnati Children’s, a nonprofit academic medical center established in 1883, is one of the oldest and most distinguished pediatric hospitals in the United States.

Cincinnati Children’s Hospital’s mission is to improve child health and transform delivery of care through fully integrated, globally recognized research, education and innovation.

Baby Khaliah completed a bone marrow transplant for severe combined immune deficiency disorder, and needed an experimental t-cell treatment only available at Cincinnati Children’s. At just six months old, AeroAngel flew Khaliah from her home in New Orleans to CCH for treatment.

Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research.

AeroAngel flew Hudson and his two siblings, who would be his bone marrow donors, from Anchorage to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston for a crucial bone marrow transplant.

 

Duke university hospital

Duke University Hospital is consistently rated as one of the best hospitals in the United States and is known around the world for its outstanding care and groundbreaking research. Duke Health’s mission is to discover, develop and deliver a healthier tomorrow.

AeroAngel has done several flights to Duke for its groundbreaking thymus transplant treatment, including Dria, who as a “bubble girl” had almost no immune system. This treatment gives kids like Dria the opportunity to kickstart their debilitated immune system.

 

littleton adventist hospital

Littleton Adventist Hospital’s mission is to extend the healing ministry of Christ by caring for those who are ill and by nurturing the health of the people in its communities. lucile packard children’s hospital

The Stanford Children’s Health network is the only health care network in the Bay Area that’s exclusively dedicated to pediatric and obstetric care. At the center is their nationally ranked hospital, bringing world-renown Stanford expertise and innovation to families near and far.

1-year-old Grace has complete DiGeorge syndrome and needed treatment for this extremely rare disease. Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital was the best option for her, and because her syndrome leaves her with nearly no immune response, other travel options were too dangerous.

 

mayo clinic

With a focus on caring for patients with serious, complex illnesses, Mayo Clinic operates in five states and cares for more than one million people a year, from all 50 states and nearly 140 countries. Mayo Clinic is ranked #1 in the nation by U.S. News and World Report.

Children's Minnesota Hospital - Minneapolis

Children’s Minnesota is one of the largest freestanding pediatric health systems in the United States, the only health system and Level I Trauma Center in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children from before birth through young adulthood, an award-winning health system, regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital and an independent and not-for-profit system.

Wes underwent treatment at Children’s Minnesota Hospital for Hurler Syndrome, and being at a high risk for illness, AeroAngel was able to fly him and his family back to their home in Texas after he was discharged.

 

Phoenix children’s hospital

Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s mission is to provide hope, healing and the best healthcare for children and their families. Their vision is to be the premier regional pediatric center in the Southwest, nationally recognized as one of the best for pediatric care, innovative research and medical education.

With a full spinal fusion, Megan is not able to comfortably sit for long periods of time, either in a cramped commercial plane or a car. With the ability to move around and spread out/lay down on a private flight by AeroAngel, Megan was able to get transported to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for medical treatment.

 

Rady children’s hospital

Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego is the region’s pediatric medical center serving San Diego, Imperial and southern Riverside counties. They treat children from birth to 18 years old as well as a small number of adults with certain conditions for which they have specialized services.

They are the largest children’s hospital in California (based on admissions),the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare, and the region’s only designated pediatric trauma center.

UNc children’s hospital chapel hill

Sebastien, an 8-year old with Hunter’s syndrome, regularly needed to get to treatment at UNC Children’s Hospital, and with the onset of COVID-19, the dangers became critical for flying commercially. AeroAngel has flown Sebastien to and from treatment in North Carolina.
